<p>PURPOSE:To enable measuring a meandering value accurately and to enable correcting the meandering accurately by opening a side guide during plate rolling and detecting the meandering of the plate at that time. CONSTITUTION:The plate 1 to be rolled on each rolling stand 2 is restricted by the side guide. 3. After starting the rolling, at the starting time for coiling the front end of the plate on a down coiler, the guide 3 is moved from an off state position A shown by a full line to an on state position B shown by a dotted line. Then, the meandering value is measured by a meandering detector 4, based on its detected value, leveling is performed to correct the meandering. After that, during the normal rolling, the sideguide 3 is held on the on state position B, to make to return to the off state position A before the rear end passes through each stand. By this method, the meandering of the plate during rolling is grasped accurately, and through this correcting, lowering of the yield caused by generating the double folding of the tail end and roll flaws are prevented.</p> |
