The active substance used corresponds to the formula: <IMAGE> in which n = 1 or 2 and the symbols R1 and R2 have various meanings; for example, R1 = H or CH3, R2 = a phenyl or a phenyl substituted by one or more methyls or halogens, or a 2-naphthyl. These substances are selective and can be applied pre- or post-emergence, especially against various grasses and plants with broad leaves (Chenopodium, purslane, and the like), for example in flax, cotton, soya bean, ground nut and tomato crops.
