PURPOSE:To provide a high-quality display device having no short circuiting by irradiating the projection formed by the foreign matter sticking to the color filter with the fourth harmonic wave of Nd:YAG laser light thereby removing the foreign matter together with the material near the foreign matter. CONSTITUTION:The projection 5 is formed on the surface of the color filter A by the foreign matter 4 which sticks to a colored pattern 2 and is enclosed by a film resin layer 3. The projection 5 of the filter surface is irradiated with the fourth harmonic wave (266mum wavelength) of the Nd:YAG laser light which is the laser light of a UV region having high light absorptivity to the color filter A to remove the foreign matter 4 together with the color filter constituting material near the matter. The exposed part of the colored layer part 2a of the color filter after the removal of the surface projection 5 is coated with a protective film 6 consisting of an acrylic resin. The projections on the filter surface are simultaneously removed in this way, the high-quality display device having no short circuiting is obtd. |
