For the purpose of achieving a higher efficiency and thus a better smoke gas distribution in the atmosphere, a division of the smoke gas flowing out is brought about inside the smoke gas offtake (1). One separated part of the same is supplied directly to mixing zones (M, 7, 7', 7'') and another part to the flow generator (8). At different heights, fresh air is supplied to the mixing zones. In the installation, the flow generator (8), which is arranged at a distance above the outlet (3), is followed by a suction pipe (14) which passes through the open mixing zone (M) and which is connected to a jet pipe (15). Provided around the suction pipe and the jet pipe is a group of mixing zones (7, 7', 7'') which are arranged at a spacing one above the other and have air inlets (7a) at different heights. <IMAGE>
