[Also in Division C3] A rigid thermoplastic sheet is prepared by building up a dough-like mass continuously in laminations on a hot calender roll and cutting the sheet thus formed, the said dough-like mass comprising fibres and a polymeric constituent which consists wholly or predominantly of vinyl chloride homopolymer and comprises at least 5% by weight of a vinyl chloride homopolymer having a K-value of 40 to 45. In examples, sheets are formed from a mass containing asbestos fibres, talc, pigment, polyvinyl chlorides and, optionally, butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber or a polyacrylate, and four of the sheets are laminated together in a press.</p> |
