<p>A free-flowable lactulose-containing additive powder for feed of about 6 to 25% in lactulose content can be prepared at a low cost by adding calcium hydroxide to whey which is a byproduct in a dairy plant, or partially delactosed whey or a filtrate obtained by ultrafiltration of whey or skim milk for recovering protein therefrom to adjust its pH to 9.4 to 11.2, heating the resulting mixture so that the pH becomes 7.5 to 9.0, homogenizing, concentrating and drying it.</p> |
