Compositions resistant to electrostatic charge comprise a high molecular weight polymer and 0À05 to 4 weight per cent based on the polymer of a reaction product of one or more amines of formula R 1 R 2 NH in which R 1 is a C 4-22 aliphatic hydrocarbon radical and R 2 is hydrogen or a C 1-12 aliphatic radical, with a dioxirane of formulµ where R 3 is hydrogen or methyl and n is 0 to 3. Specified polymers are polymers and copolymers of ethylene, propylene, butene- 1, 4-methylpentene-1, styrene, acrylonitrile, methacrylonitrile, butadiene and vinyl acetate; glycol terephthalates, alkyd resins and unsaturated polyester resins. Specified antistatic agents are derived from reaction products of epichlorohydrin with hydroquinone, resorcinol, bis(4- hydroxyphenyl)methane or bis(4 - hydroxyphenyl) propane; and butyl-, octyl-, decyl-, lauryl-, stearyl-, eicosyl-, dibutyl-, methyloctyl-, methyldodecyl-, ethyldodecyl-, methylstearyl-, ethylstearyl-, tallow and coconut oil amines. Examples describe compositions comprising polyethylene, polystyrene, polypropylene and polyethylene terephthalate and antistatic agents derived from 1,4-bis(2,3- epoxypropoxy)benzene and stearylamine or methylstearylamine; 1,3-bis(2,3-epoxypropoxy) benzene and methyllaurylamine or ethylstearylamine; bis(epoxypropoxyphenyl)propane and tallow amines, dibutylamine or stearylamine; and bis(hydroxyphenyl) propane/epichlorohydrin condensates of molecular weight about 800 with octylamine and stearylamine.
