COLOR PICTURE EMPHASIZING DISPLAY UNIT

PURPOSE:To secure the visual display partially in a clear and real-time way by performing the normalization of the density value only within an optional region in the picture image and then emphasizing the color change in comparison with other parts. CONSTITUTION:The color picture emphasizing display unit comprises the following component units: display medium 1; refresh memory 2 in which the density value comprising several bits for each piecture element; address register 3 which stores the X and Y coordinates at the starting point of the rectangular region to be given an emphasis display; X and Y register 4 which store the X and Y and Y directional width value of the rectangular region; timing con troller 5 which draws out selectively only the picture elements within the rectangular region of memory 2; detector 6 which detects both the maximum and minimum value of the picture data within the rectangular region; first and second color converters 7 and 8 which are used for the picture elements inside and outside the rectanglular region; color converter rewriting unit 9 which performs the color allotment within converter 8 for the emphasis display; and D/A converter 10 respectively.
