<p>Device for cutting elastic or plastics webs has cutter which is displaceable across the web and has a cutting edge inclined at an acute angle towards the surface of the web. A wedge-shaped pad for the web, at an angle to the cutter, bridges a level differential in the path of the web upstream and downstream of the cutter. Pref. there is a means for holding the web in position, which acts vertically, spans the web parallel to the cutting direction and is installed downstream of the pad. The pad pref. subtends an angle of 10-30 degrees with the horizontal, bridging a level differential of pref. 10-30mm.</p> |
