Aircraft cabin pressure regulator - utilises regulator valve controlled by step motor from sensor inputs

The pressure in an aircraft cabin is regulated to prevent passengers being subjected to too low a pressure and to high speed pressure variations. This is performed by regulator valve controlled by step motor from sensor inputs. Pressure in aircraft cabin (10) is sensed (14) and processed (15) to produce an error signal which is converted (16) to frequency. This signal is applied to a modulator (18) which controls a step motor (17) which in turn controls a valve (13) in cabin air exhaust as inlet (11) air is supplied from a compressor. Manual control is provided via an oscillator (19) and modulator (20) circuit.
