PURPOSE:To make possible the rolled wire rod with good drawa bility and strength to be manufactured efficiently, by detecting the resonance frequency from the resonance circuit arranged along the pass line of the rolled wire rod, by continuously measuring the temperature fluctuation of the wire rod, and by controlling the cooling so as to make this termperature fluctuation to coincide with the settled pattern. CONSTITUTION:The temperature of the rolled wire rod (a) continuously reduces by the cooler 1...N, and correspondingly to this, the impedance of individual temperature detector C varies stepwise; hereupon, the starting point Ps of the leading peak is corresponding to the transition point Acl of the rolled material (a). Accordingly, the controller F can detect the transition point as a result of the cooling of the rolled material (a), taking the output signal of individual temperature detector C as the input information. Then, the flow rate adjusting signal, necessary for making these cooling patterns obrained as above to coincide with the settled cooling pattern Q, is transmitted to individual flow control valve V, and hereby, the flow rate of the coolihg medium is controlled. According to this method, the transition point can easily, exactly detected, so that the cooling effect as compared to the lead bath can be accomplished without using the lead bath. |
