Automatic welding of conductor ends to plug contacts - uses conductor shaping tool for extreme bending of conductor ends to disrupt insulation

The automatic welding is intended for ends of flexible, multi-core conductors with plastics insulation. It provides connection to plug contacts etc., and the individual core ends are shaped into acceptable form by a shaping tool (12, 13). The conductor core ends (11) are subjected to bending stresses in the shaping tool in such manner that the insulation is subjected to a stretch exceeding its elasticity modulus. Preferably the shaping tool is fitted with very sharp bending edges. This process eliminates the need for special holders otherwise required for welding plug contacts etc. to the ends of cable cores.
