Metal smelting furnace - with two interchangeable hearths on rails with rope drive

A metal smelting furnace to melt aluminium out of ferrous scrap metal consists of a furnace casing with burners and two hearths which can be moved in two positions. In one position one hearth is inside the furnace and the other is ready for removing the residue and charging outside. In the other position the two hearths reverse their location. This saves much manual work for raking the residue out of conventional hearths. The labour productivity is much improved.
