Turning tool has a holder clamped in its head by means of clamping screws, and finely adjustable by means of a screw spindle. A meter (22) is incorporated in the tool head (10) to check the adjustment path of the holder (14), and has a probe (26) coupled without tolerance to a coupling component (28) which is adjustable simultaneously with the tool holder (14). The coupling component (28) is located with a friction seat on a rod (29) fitted in the tool holder (14) in the direction of adjustment, and limitedly adjustable lengthways against it.
