PURPOSE:To simplify the cutting operation of a tape, which is recorded with PCM signals, by mixing and processing the synchronous reproducing signals, which are generated by reproducing means such as two VTRs recorded with the same PCM signals, in accordance with a preset Equation. CONSTITUTION:The reproduction signals by two VTR 1a and 1b, which are recorded with the same PCM signals, are converted by a delay circuit 2 into synchronous reproduction signals, which are elongated in the time axis by reproduction circuits 3a and 3b so that they are fed to a selector circuit 4 in synchronism with the clock through a control circuit 20. The respective bits of the PCM signals consecutively generated from the selector 4 are subjected to the mixing process based upon such Equation (I) by a multiplying circuit 5, a latch circuit 10, an adding circuit 9 and latch circuits 11 and 12, to all of which the weighing coefficients p and q to be read out of an ROM 7, as reads: (First Reproduction Signals x p)<2> + (Second Reproduction Signals x q)<2> = (Output Signals)<2>. The signals thus processed are monitored by a monitor 16. As a result, one of the reproduction signals has its level gradually increased, whereas the other has its level gradually decreased, while having their sum constant. During the editting and recording operation by a VTR 14, the tape can be obliequely cut and connected simply in response to the PCM signals similarly to the analog signals. |
