Melting furnace lining electrical parameters monitor - has maximum and average value units for lining condition assessment

The melting furnace lining is monitored using a monitoring system which scans the electrical parameters of the lining. The system has high accuracy of assessment of lining uniform wear. Accuracy of sensing of local damage to lining is high and such damage locations are readily detected. The system uses few embedded electrodes. The electrical parameters of identical sections of the lining which are arranged over the circumference of the furnace are measured. Arithmetical average and max. value of measured values are evaluated. These values are compared for assessing lining conditions on the basis of these values. A measuring parameter max. value determining unit and unit for data about lining conditions have inputs connected to electrodes. Units are also provided for analysis and display.
