The rolling castor may be clamped in position and has a unit which clamps over its uppermost level (2") to hold a pivoted bearing top (2) and a rotatable roller wheel (4) so that a braking member (3) may be used to free a damping disc (19) by pressure on a central spindle (10) which is attached to a top disc (19). The central spindle is axially adjustable in position and actuates the mechanism to hold the braking member (5). The assembly includes two ball bearing shells on either side of the main unit. The castor is for large rubbish containers and at the same time provides a secure brake for loading and unloading. A large locking moment may be achieved by a virtue of the leverage obtd. by pivoting of the outside lever acting on the central bolt.
