Appts. for controlling the throughput of an electrically driven mill or breaker has a filling vibrator which is powered by a thyristor connection device with a preconnected adjustable amplifier, adjusted by the current received by the motor, which is introduced by means of a current transformer as momentary value in the control circuit, the nominal value of the control circuit being derived from the momentary value. The mill is used for grinding and breaking materials such as ores, limestone, gypsum, grain, foods, and organic fillers for the plastics industry. The throughput of the mill is accurately and reliably controlled, so that the mill does not become overloaded.
