The grab consists of rollers which are held be freewheeling mechanisms on grab arms pressed together by springs. The rollers roll on the fabric and the grab arms are spread apart when placed on the fabric. The rollers have zones of different toughness so that they pick up and pinch cloth between rollers when the grab is lifted. Two stops are incorporated to limit the extent to which the grab arms can be separated.
