The shelf support (1) consists of a section in one piece into which the shelf (4) is clamped. The upper side of the section has a horizontal surface (13) next to the surface (11) which is fixed to the wall or strut. Next to the wall-fixing surface (11) is a surface (12, 14) which ends underneath the clamp surface and forms a support (3) for the shelf. The shelf support (1) is a hollow rectangle, with a gap (S) between the upper horizontal clamping surface (13) and the surface (14) facing the fixture surface (11); the shelf (4) is inserted into the gap (S).
