The room heating system using a form of solar heating, has an inner glass pane (3) and an outer glass pane (5) with a space (23) between them for circulating a heat exchange fluid. This is forced by a pump (17) through a bottom opening 7) for discharge through a tap opening (9) to a room heating unit (15). Both glass panes incorporate a substance which becomes dark when subjected to sunshine, so that a large amount of heat is absorbed from the sunshine. In an alternative design, a third glass pane (25) is mounted outside and the space (27) between it and the outer pane (5) subjected to vacuum or filler with an inert gas. This gives better insulation.
