Underground drill dust collection system - has hood over drill connected to centrifugal chamber, diffuser and cyclone with separator

The dust and debris collection system for a drill used in mining and tunnelling operations includes a hood (3) which can be attached to the face being drilled and enclosing the end of the boring bar (1). On the side opposite to this face, is fitted a sealing sleeve (4) around the boring bar. Underneath the hood, its outlet is fitted with a bend (5) followed by a centrifugal chamber (7) for the extracted air and dust, and a pressure diffuser (8). These members are connected by a resilient corrugated hose (9) to a separator and cyclone. The hood is anchored to the face by supports (12) secured by a bolt (13). The diffusor may be connected to a water spray supply.
