Composite yarn comprises a core component bonded to an external component by a binder comprising a polymer (pref. polypropylene), and vinyl acetate, (pref. as an EVA copolymer). The core pref. comprises a support formed by >=1 filaments, pref. polyester or glass fibres. The external fibre pref. comprises a fibre which is partially embedded in the binder. The binder pref. comprises 2-15% vinly acetate. Use of the vinyl acetate component improves the bond between the core and external component of the composite yarn, and improves processing aptitude of the yarn.
