The recorder has an automatic cassette ejection device tensioned by cassette longitudinal insertion. A plate is movable at a right angle to the cassette insertion plane, provided with a forward drive whose parts engage the cassette when the place is in its operating position. A chassis guides the cassette, near which the recorder controls are provided. The plate (2) extends up to about the middle of the inserted cassette. A guide in the chassis (1) prevents the cassette from tilting and the automatic cassette ejection device controls the plate (2) which is mounted on the chassis (1) at the back of the recorder.
