Inside the grinding space (3) the rotor with beater elements (4) is operating. The tips (4) are rotating at some distance from the inner surface of cylindrical screen (14). The mill has no impact slats. The material to be ground is fed into the mill through hopper (1) connected to inlet opening (2) the passage of which is controlled by slide grate (5) which is keyed on lever (8) with counter weight (7) and performs swinging motion. When the mill runns idle weight (7) swings the arm (8) downwards and opening (2) is fully open. On the peripheral end of the slide gate (5) feeler (9) is fitted in form around a rod which projects into part ring space (15). The pressure of the gyrating material opens the slide gate to an extent proportional to the quantity of material inside the grinding space.
