The mechanism for the support and stepwise rotation of an assembly of blades in turbine rotors and winding sections in generator armatures consists of a primary support (8) defining a stable portion of a shaft (7) for the rotors as winding sections. A secondary support (5) lifts the shaft off the primary support to allow the shaft to return to its stable position after subjecting it to a rotation determined by a linear movement of the secondary support. The secondary support tilts to engage the shaft and lift it. The primary support includes a stop against which the shaft is urged by the tilt. The secondary support may be a beam, which moves longitudinally on a lever.
