Rapid fitting snow chain - with six equally spaced double hoops and end straps fastened on sides

The snow chain comprises six equally spaced double metal loops (3) linked by rigid metal bars (2), attached to the loops on pivots. The six loops are joined in a line, with the ends fitted with snap fastening straps to complete the circle on the tyre. The loops are equally spaced so that each cross bar (1) runs across the tyre tread at 30 deg. from its adjacent bars. This gives a much improved grip on the conventional single, or double bars spaced at 180 deg. or 90 deg. When not in use the loops fold together for compact storage.
