PURPOSE:To absorb the dispersion in the limit of the minimum operating voltage thereby to prevent leakage of a main battery by stopping the function of a watch circuit at such a voltage level as is free from full consumption of the active substances of anode and cathode of the battery. CONSTITUTION:Resistors R2 and R3 are added to a normal quartz oscillator using a quartz oscillating element XL to raise the lower limit of the minimum operating voltage as the quartz oscillator so that the voltage limit of the circuit as a whole is raised. It is preset that the battery for a power source is manganese battery and that the resistor R3 is so suitably adjusted that the lower limit voltage, at which the output as the quartz oscillator can be correctly fed to a first stage FF 1 of the frequency dividing circuit, may be at about 1.1 volts. When the battery is consumed to have its voltage lowered to about 1.1 volts, the function of the watch is stopped so that the battery can be replaced before any leak takes place from the battery. |
