The device for obtaining and registering heart beat histograms as in the main patent, using counters also includes a further counter to determine the time between two successive heartbeats or multiples of beats at a fixed frequency for entry into a programmed fixed value memory. The addressed position of the memory is evaluated by a multiplexer for indication by a counter forming a further memory to obtain a frequency classification. A further pulse from the next heart beat then begins the next cycle. The fixed value memory can be plugged in. A timing device generates a part of the addressing system for the fixed value memory.
