The clutch power amplifier (2) is particularly applicable to heavy road vehicles, and has an input pressure increased by an amplifier which is driven by compressed air and comprises a transmitter cylinder. This is then converted into a hydraulic output pressure in a work circuit for operating a receiver cylinder of a clutch. The amplifier comprises a combination of a nozzle (43) in the connection between transmitter (38) and receiver cylinders (41), and a hydraulic pressure limiter (44) the secondary chamber of which is connected back to hydraulic fluid supply tank (46).
