1340335 Photographic flash devices PATENT-TREUHAND-GES FUR ELEKTRISCHE GLUHLAMPEN mbH 11 Dec 1970 [11 Dec 1969] 59108/70 Heading G2A [Also in Division F4] A reflector for a photographic flash device has a reflecting surface comprising several plane sections and a plurality of individual generally parabolic sections formed from different surfaces of revolution arranged in fan shape in the reflector. The parabolic sections have vertices which lie spaced apart on the y axis adjacent the co-ordinate zero point but three of the four actual reflecting surfaces deviate from a true parabolic shape near their vertices so that they all pass through the co-ordinate zero. The remaining surface is a true paraboloid passing through the zero and where this intersects the top surface of the reflector there is provided a perforation to allow heat and light to pass to an indicator to show if the flash-bulb has been used. The design permits maximum utilization of the space in a flash-cube with increased light output. The parabolic sections in the preferred embodiment are defined mathematically.
