Title compds. (I; R1=lower alkyl, aryl or cycloalkyl, R4=H, acyl) were prepd. by isomerization of the cis-isomer or the cis trans-mixts. at b.p. of solvent at atm press. in the presence of 1-3 mol. fraction of alk. metal alcoholate. Thus, a mixt. of 0.93g cis-4-(aminomethyl)cyclohexanecarboxylic acid (II) Et ester and 0.23g Na in EtOH was reacted 5 hr and HCI-treated to give 0.83g IIEt ester HCI (trans-isomer content 98.5%).
