<p>A METHOD AND MACHINERY FOR MAKING PILE WEATHERSTRIPPING There is disclosed a method and machinery for making pile weatherstripping. The first step is to form a plurality of continuous lengths of a resin anchorage base shaped for an interference fit in a retainer slot. These bases are then advanced in parallel relation while a filament yarn is continuously wrapped around them. The yarn is secured to the bases along opposite sides of each of them and then the yarn is slit to form a plurality of such bases each having an insulating pile row extending in the same general direction outward from each of the opposite sides of the base to extend outward from the retainer slot when the base is fitted therein.</p> |
