<p>PURPOSE:To provide the above-identified testing apparatus, in which a throttle is provided between a surge tank and an after-burn prevention valve (AB valve) to permit precise meansurment of the ''on'' period of the AB valve through detection of the pressure in a path nearner to the AB valve than to the throttle. CONSTITUTION:In a system, in which with introduction of high intake negative pressure at the time of sudeen deceleration of the engine through an intake manifold to a primary negative pressure chamber of an AB valve 9 a diaphragm 4 is displaced upwards against a spring 6 to open a valve 5 and communicate air cleaner and intake manifold to each other through paths 7 and 8 so as to introduce a great quantity of air for preventing afterburn, as a means for testing the ''on'' period of the AB valve 6 a surge tank 10, to which a vacuum pump 12 is connected, is connected to the path 8 through a throttle 16, and a detection end of a pressure sensor 13 is connected to the upstream side of the throttle 16. The output of the sensor is coupled through an amplifier 14 to a recorder 15.</p> |
