PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead storage battery which enables the achievement of superior charging acceptability while suppressing a short circuit.SOLUTION: A lead storage battery comprises: a positive electrode and a negative electrode opposed to each other through a separator; and an electrolytic solution. The separator has convex ribs and a base part supporting the ribs. The thickness T of the base part is 0.25 mm or less. The ratio H/T of the height H of the ribs to the thickness T of the base part is 2-6. The electrolytic solution contains aluminum ions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
