CURRENT SUPPLY SYSTEM

The present invention relates to a system for supplying current to a group of high-current resistance furnaces. The system includes a plurality of transformers which are switchingly connected sequentially to the individual furnaces singly and together in parallel. The group of furnaces are subdivided into two subgroups of furnaces. Each subgroup has one of the transformers associated with it. The system includes a third transformer which is selectively switchingly connected in parallel to the one and the other of the two subgroups of furnaces.
