<p>In an electro-optical device having a liquid layer between electrodes, and which also comprises a light modulating or imaging layer, e.g. electrochromic or liquid crystal devices, or the like, a hole for access of the liquid layer has to be provided in a back plate of the device. Sealing of the hole is accomplished by a layer of adhesive, e.g. epoxide or silane adhesive around the hole with an impervious plate covering the hole and pressed in contact with the adhesive. The system for sealing the hole represents an improvement over known techniques.</p> |
