[Also in Division H1] A ceramic composition comprises a ceramic component of 50-60 mol. per cent PbZrO 3 and 40-50 mol. per cent PbTiO 3 and 15-80% by weight of a vitreous frit component. When used as an encapsulant, e.g. for capacitors and resistors, the frit component is limited to 30- 60%. Borosilicate and aluminosilicate glasses are preferred for the frit. The composition may also be used to bond or seal metal to ceramic. |
