PURPOSE:To provide a cooler system for vehicle having a relatively small displacement engine, which is rendered inoperative automatically at the time of rapid acceleration of the vehicle, so as to effect acceleration of vehicle smoothly. CONSTITUTION:In the control system for controlling operation of automotive cooler, pulley 18 connected to crank shaft 12 of engine 10 is operatively connected to cooler compressor 22 via electromagnetic clutch 20. The control system comprises a transistor TR for achieving on-off control of current supplied from battery B to coil 21 of clutch 20 so as to couple the clutch 20 only when cooling of the cabin is required, an AND-gate 26 for affording base current of the transistor TR, and sensors 28, 30 for detecting the cooling operation. In the above arrangement, accelerator pedal 30 is connected to movable contact 38 of position detecting switch 36 by means of rod 34, whereas voltage generator B' and another input 26C of AND-gate 26 are connected to the fixed contact 40 of said switch 36. |
