The machine rotary mower comprises a frame fitting onto the rear of a tractor. This frame has two vertically positioned drums (1, 2) suspended from it and rotated by means of a suitable drive. Each drum is fitted with a flexible skirt (12, 13) of reinforced rubber, the skirt being in the form of an annular ring attached to the drum at its inner diameter. As the drums rotate, the skirts accommodate themselves to the ground contours and pass under the hay. This is lifted up and transported on the upper face of each skirt.
