The float has a conical cylindrical body with a central passage through which the line passes. The float may comprise a tube encased in light material. The upper end may be slit to facilitate securing of the line. A cap sleeve fits tightly on the upper end and holds it firm on the line. The lower end of the body may be slit and a sleeve may be provided to fit tightly on it and hold it firm on the line. This construction maintains the float symmetrical about the line.
