Autiseismic support for nuclear reactor

Structure, esp. a nuclear reactor, is protected from earthquake damage by bearings of the rocker-between-plates type. The horizontal seismic vibrations in the foundation are converted into vertical and horizontal components, and the acceleration forces in the supper-structure are reduced by damping of the vibrations. Pref. the radii of curvature of the rocker faces exceed the half-height of the rocker.
