One or more endless webs 32 of textile material are treated with a liquid in an apparatus consisting of a cylindrical container 1 in which is disposed one or more driven rollers 2 on a common shaft 4 (Fig. 1), each having associated with it an accumulation zone 10 for the web, containing the liquid, and a chute 7, shaped as shown, the angle α between 10 and 45 degrees, the liquid bombarding the material web in each chute from at least one nozzle 15 above it and being fed along the bottom of the chute from at least one nozzle 14. The bottom of each accumulation zone is provided with apertures 13 along its bottom connecting the zone with the cylinder wall from which outlets 16a, 16b lead to a pump (18) and via a heat exchanger (20) to the nozzles 14, 15. Two farther nozzles may be included (Fig. 4) one (25) at the entrance end of each web accumulation zone and the other (26) disposed so as to help transport the web through the zone. |
