Treatment of brewery residues for conversion into animal foodstuffs comprises mixing the moist residues, opt. after removal of free water, with yeasts and other organic by-products from the brewery, the yeasts having been previously deactivated by heat or hydrolysis, with mineral supplement contg. calcium, phosphorus and trace elements, and with a silage preservative. The process is equally applicable to beet pulp, fruit pulp, vegetable cakes and grape marc from other food industries. A typical mixture containing moist residues containing yeasts 2% kaolinite, 2% of a preservative containing urea phosphate, paraformaldehyde and calcium formate, acetate and propionate; phosphates and trace elements. |
