The trap when placed permits passage of snails in one direction only. It consists essentially in thin strips or blades assembled together in the same plane at one end and free at the other end. The latter bear lightly on a plane surface and tangential to it. The resistance to entry of the animals may be varied by varying the thickness of the blades to adapt the trap to stronger or weaker animals. The trap may be made from a rectangular sheet of material rolled into the form of a cylinder and with closures for the ends.
