The simulated target is towed by an aircraft and the target has a rigid front for instruments and a flexible trailing part. The trailing part is made of cheap material and receives projectiles fired at the target. The front part is used as a container for telemetry and control parts. This front part accommodates one or more target representing elements in folded condition. A target representing body is drawn out from the front part and it is held in fully extended state at a safe distance away from the front part.
