In a tent with bearing arches and a canvas forming roof, the bearing arches are made up of several rigid arch elements, firmly interconnected by means of a rope attached to the feet of the corresponding bearing arch. To allow for elastic modification of the shape of the bearing arches under the influence of wind or snow loads and to set up the prestretched bearing arches by oscillation around the rope of the arch, the arch elements are connectedly articulated at their ends the articulation axis defined by the shape of the thrust ends extending perpendicularly to the arch plane. If several ropes (7) which are spaced one from the other and roughly perpendicularly to the arch plane prolonge the arch elements or are in contact along these arch elements, the rigidity versus the gap outside the arch plane can be adjusted on each side separately. The invention applies mainly to big tents, for example for fairs, sport or storage halls. |
