The manually operated tool for parting of pipes, round bars and profiles has clamp and motor driven cutter. The motor and cutter are held on a slide. The moving clamping jaw is held at the end of a clamping rod (23). The latter slides freely in its guides. The clamping rod is locked by tilting clamping plates (25, 26) around the clamping rod. A clamping plate is held in the free position by a spring. An eccentric cam actuated by a handle (33) titls the locking plate so that it grips the rod.
