The procedure enables the sound film fade-in and fade-out optical images to be carried out automatically. The reproduction equipment displaces the film both in advance and retard. The appts. comprises a sound film projector (1) with an objective (2), two spools for the film (3, 4), a film strip (5), a mixer console (6) with controls for mixing (7) and operation (8). An additional control (12) is included for an image counter and scene switching (13). There is also a tape recorder (19) and a microphone (20). The equipment is used to write a programme on a mini-calculator for recording on an internal memory. This ensures overlap of the fade-out of "Scene 1" with the fade-in of "Scene 2" in conjunction with a sound addition if required.
