The rear suspension is braced by transverse supports (5) which are linked in the middle of the vehicle by swivel joints (17) set on the middle of the torsion bar (14). The torsion bar is bent forwards near the middle so that that point moves with the suspension deflections. The suspension is thus dynamically balanced with axle loadings without requiring a large vertical space. It is suited for compact cars and provides additional stability for cornering.
